Bridal Shower #1

Danny's mother was so sweet that she threw a bridal shower for me today.  Plus she already sent me some of the pictures from today.  The shower was at a cute tea house in the area and it was such a nice shower.  I am so thankful to be marrying into such a loving and sweet family!

Lack of Updates and Motivation

I've done a bad job at updating everyone on the wedding planning recently.  Although, there hasn't been very much to talk about either.  I've been out of town throughout the month visiting family.  Plus I was sick for a good week and a half so that put a lot of wedding planning on hold.  I think the stress of wedding planning, working, my family house for sale, and moving got to me finally.  But anyway there are just a few things here and there I figured I would let you all know about.

Danny and I did get our marriage license this past weekend.  That really hit me with the realization that I am actually getting married next month.  I did find it funny that as soon as we got our license Danny said, "Alright let's go get married now."  I was like, "You've got to be kidding right?"  Thankfully he was.  When we were at the courthouse getting the paperwork and swearing that we were not under the influence of alcohol and not cousins or kin of some kind I was thinking," Wow is this process completely necessary?"  How many people in the state of Ohio really try to marry their brother or sister or their first cousins?  It was a very interesting process.  It went smoothly overall.  The only difficult part was trying to find the building in downtown Columbus.  Tip for anyone getting married anytime soon.  Fill out your paperwork beforehand.  It is 100 times faster and if you can submit the paperwork online, do it.

Besides getting our license and getting hit in the face with the realization that this wedding is actually happening SOON; not much has been going on.  I got to spend time with a friend that will be getting married next year in the September so it was nice to have someone to talk to about wedding planning.  It's funny how I can go back and talk about planning like I am some sort of expert now because I have already been through a lot of what she is doing now.  I really enjoyed hearing about all her wedding plans.

This month is also filled with bridal showers.  I am excited for all of those.  I am really excited about the shower my mom is having for me in Louisville.  I can't wait to see a few friends and family!  Hopefully, I can post a couple pictures soon from all the different showers.

I have been working on getting favors together for our guests too.  That has been a little stressful.  I just keep putting it off and that's why it stresses me out.  I know I need to do it but I just don't have the motivation.  I also don't have the motivation to work on programs.  It's funny how I was so ready a year ago to get all this wedding planning done but when it's crunch time I just kind of blow it off.  Oh yeah this weekend also marked Danny and I being engaged for a whole year!  I was happy that we got to spend it together.

I got a few other details ready for the wedding.  I got our guest book figured out and one of the pieces arrived today.  It's really cute I think!

I look at all the wedding check lists I have going and there isn't much left to do but I feel like there is so much more to do.  I have about five different lists going...OCD I know.  I started on itineraries for all the guests and bridal party members.  I feel this is completely necessary and forgotten by many brides.  I have witnessed many weddings where people in the bridal party have no idea where they need to be and what times they are needed so I made it my mission to get those started and as full of details as possible.

As always if you have any ideas for the wedding please share.  If you would like to motivate me to actually plan my wedding that would also be appreciated haha.

Only 44 days to go!  It's not in triple digits anymore...AHHH!
